After Altered another disappointment on Sánchez's resume. He seems to be less able to handle this material. I usually try to avoid whining about clichés, but when a film does the exact opposite, it becomes difficult. The found footage style has its advantages, the idiot with the camera is now quite annoying. Just like the lugging around of those things.

Another group of friends that stands out in a negative way. It's because Bigfoot is already stirring things up, otherwise it would have been unbearable around the horror. Sánchez does that quite well. You almost always hear Sasquatch and the attacks are nice and intense. Too bad that you gradually get used to it, so that the finale doesn't have much of an effect.

Exciting movie

You can tell it's from the same creators as Blair Witch.

At times really nail-bitingly exciting

Of course, the sound also plays a major role, so be sure to turn up the volume.

As far as I'm concerned a successful Bigfoot film

Moderate FF.

Exists was recommended to me by an acquaintance, before that I had never heard of the best film but in the meantime it had been on my watch list for quite some time before I had seen the film. In retrospect I was quite disappointed, although I will be honest about the fact that I never expected anything good from a Bigfoot film.

Nevertheless, the concept is still fun, and with all those vague pictures that haunt the internet, you should be able to do something exciting with the concept. Exists unfortunately fails to do so, despite the fact that it plays on this Urban Legend quite a few times. You don't get to see the monster (clearly) on screen for a long time.

Exists relies on some cool stunts and a very high pace during the second half, which makes it not exactly boring as a whole. Despite including one or two fairly exciting moments in the mix, there is little atmosphere or fear mixed into the film. It never gets very scary, mainly because the monster looks seriously bad.

Furthermore, the graphic violence is below par and the acting is also quite mediocre. The found footage concept is used quite a bit, but for such a short film it is too repetitive. Running around in the woods with a vague shadow running after you, it starts to feel a bit unoriginal after a while. Then a few stunts are the best part.

Exists is not exactly a good example for aspiring filmmakers who want to make such a film. The biggest mistake the film makes is showing Bigfoot in full view during the finale. The beast looks seriously undersized, and basically sucks the tension right out of the film. Not that it was ever really seriously exciting, but oh well.
