stupid.

Film that I was looking forward to in a crazy way. This kind of campy nonsense sometimes suits me very well, and since the review of Jennifer's Body was also so good in terms of campyness, I hoped for the same with this movie. Unfortunately, that did not happen during its course.

For starters, the acting within this film really makes you cry. I really missed Gellar's presence, and I haven't even seen the series, and to think the series didn't come out until after this movie. Anything better than this Swanson. She is a doll to watch, but she can't act, let alone act tough.

Furthermore, the clumsiness of the film is often disadvantageous. Many action scenes don't look like much and it is very noticeable that the cast can't do anything with it in terms of martial arts. The vampires look bad too. Simple makeup. Appearances that feel very repetitive, and since this can be called a safe, almost childish film, they don't stick out a leg. Nice.

In terms of color still bright, but otherwise it is difficult to get through some scenes. That is not due to the tempo, because there is enough momentum in the film and it never gets boring, but it is due to my vicarious shame that I got during the scenes. I just couldn't see the humor in it, and the film is also quite serious, so I wonder if there was any humor in it at all.

Boring film, often just too dull for words. This film has not stood the test of time. It's nice that it takes a largely practical path otherwise, but if this is the result, I'd rather they filled the movie with cheesy effects. They would probably have turned out a lot more enjoyable than this heap of film. Disappointing.

This film was forgotten and will have been picked up by most like me thanks to the much better series with Sarah Michelle Gellar. The film also doesn't really know how to choose a tone and hovers between a bad teenage comedy and even worse humor. We see a lot of famous names like Donald Sutherland, Rutger Hauer, Luke Perry and Hilary Swank, but it's embarrassing to see them at work. The comparison with the series is of course quickly made and many strong elements (not to mention the cast itself) we only see in the series and are not present here at all. We hardly see any action in the film and the humor is rather poor. Fortunately, writer Joss Whedon pushed through and 5 years later made his own version as we know it much better.
