Young Prince Friedrich is choosing the candidates for the upcoming ball from a pile of portrait photographs, while he's quite bored. His mother is already hot on his heels. Just as he and his friends are about to escape the responsibility of choosing the ladies, Prince Friedrich encounters the swan maiden Odette in the enchanted forest and is captivated. He witnesses her transformation and discovers that a curse keeps her trapped in the form of a swan every day. Only true love can save her.
