Draug plot
"Oft in the woods, is a listener nigh."
In the 11th century, a missionary goes missing in the vast forests bordering the northern part of Sweden. Nanna, a young woman, is on the rescue team tasked with finding him. Deep in those woods, they stumble upon something very different from the missing man: something dark, something ancient, something evil.

Below-average folk horror in which director duo Karin Engman and Klas Persson occasionally portray the forests in a particularly ugly way, a true achievement considering the Scandinavian natural beauty in mind. A lot of bonus points go to the cast members, who all play their roles with conviction and really get into the authenticity. Draug gets off to a very slow start, but nevertheless sets the tone with a particularly poorly put together opening. The red filters look particularly amateurish and the threat is sloppily (and therefore ineffectively) built up. The characters end up in various dangerous situations and as a viewer I really wasn't interested in any of it. Draug eventually comes with a noisy final phase, but by then most people will probably have long since dropped out.
