A brash, greedy miller (Kleinau) sets fire to a competitor's mill, where the farmers bring their grain, forcing the farmers to come to his mill. Anna (Kotthaus) finds out about this crime and decides to secretly rebuild the burned-out mill together with the courageous Jörg (Minetti).
