Semi-autobiographical film about a group of young people growing up in Beijing in the 1970s. It is summer and the boys live at a military school. They regularly skip school and get into fights with rival groups. The budding love life is also the order of the day. Liu Yiku is the group leader who is interested in the girl Yu.
