While working in China, Vera finds out that she has been infected with AIDS. Apart from herself, she is very concerned about the fate of her daughter Taddy, who she is raising alone. In search of suitable adoptive parents, she encounters the gay couple Harry and Pit, who teach her to deal with the sad fate.
