White Star plot
Kenneth Barlow (Dennis Hopper) has been working in the music industry all his life. He reached his peak as a tour manager for the Rolling Stones, but since then his career has only gone downhill. However, keyboard player Moody Modinsky (Terrance Robay) may well be the turning point. Barlow promotes him as the 'white star', the musician who represents the future. And Barlow goes a long way: he organizes a riot, fabricates a - fake - death threat, makes a fake check from a record company and sells Moodinsky stuff to rent a studio. As Barlow moves forward and is convinced that Moodinsky needs him, the latter is near a burnout and he is fed up with Barlow.
