Verloren Dochter plot

Tom and Anneke will soon be celebrating their silver wedding anniversary. They have been living a bitter life together for a long time, from which the jaded everydayness offers them no way out. Unspoken is the grief for their lost daughter. But that changes when a young refugee, who has exhausted all legal remedies, entrusts Tom with her child, still a toddler. To his wife's astonishment, he takes the girl home: she doesn't want to hear about it. Yet the arrival of the child breaks open the petrified marriage that has been loveless and stuck since the death of their only daughter. With the arrival of the child, a new future opens up to them, where it ends for the girl's mother.
