Hunting in Canada, doctor William "Bill" Crawford is attacked by a bear. His guide Joe Easter saves his life and he takes the badly injured Bill to his cabin, where he lives with his beautiful young wife Alverna. Joe leaves Bill to recover and goes on a lengthy hunt. Meanwhile, Bill and Alverna fall in love. Local doctor Billar dies during an operation. Bill completes the surgery and he then decides to stay in Lost Lake and continue his practice there and be near Alverna as well.
