Sequel to 'Un Homme et Une Femme' which picks up on the relationship between Anne and Jean-Louis. Anne, still unmarried, now directs films but her last film was a very expensive flop. Jean-Louis is still in car racing and is now engaged. One day, out of nowhere, Jean-Louis receives a phone call from Anne. She asks him for permission to make a musical film of their relationship at the time, but with young actors. It turns out that it is not so easy to capture the atmosphere of their romance in a movie.
