George Lattimer is a Washington DC cop who is not liked by his colleagues and the people in his neighborhood. He is obsessed with the idea that he can get promoted. But when that promotion goes to a white colleague, he loses himself in a violent fantasy world, where he fantasizes about the "Black Panthers", natives smashing watermelons and a trip to the moon.
