To Live to Sing plot
Zhao Li leads a Sichuan opera company that lives together and performs in a dilapidated theater on the outskirts of Chengdu. When she hears that the building will be demolished, she hides the news for fear that the group would fall apart. To keep her "family" together, she is looking for a new theater where they can continue their current existence. As she struggles with the red tape, characters from her opera world begin to seep into her real life.
