The high-spirited young Rose is loved by all the men in a Canadian district. Sergeant Devlin of the Northwest Mounted Police is in love with her. However, Rose only feels affection for the railroad worker Bruce, who has come to take her to the big city. Bruce kills Dr. Cusick, for trying to prevent Rose from leaving her hometown. After this murder, a manhunt takes place, in which Devlin arrests Bruce, only to release him out of love for Rose.
