Thru Different Eyes plot
Public Prosecutor Stephen Pettijohn, who is critical of the American justice system, gives another lecture. As an example of his criticism, Pettijohn lectures on a recent case: the murder of banker James Gardner. Constance marries James Gardner, even though Ted Farnsworth wasn't happy about it. Not long after, the couple travels to a vacation home, where Constance urges James to get a divorce. James refuses and the next day he is found dead with a bullet to the head. All evidence points to one Harry Beach as the perpetrator, who is sentenced to death. Pettijohn's problem is the under-researched role of Ted Farnsworth and Constance by the police.
