Ricky “Hellcat” Heller is a fading rock star whose time and tragedy have taken their toll. Now, three years after leaving everything behind following the tragic death of his teenage son, Ricky returns to Anderson, Indiana. While his aging father welcomes Ricky with open arms, his estranged wife, Susanna, is reluctant to reopen the wounds of the past. Ricky thinks the best solution is to end his life, but is reintroduced to a troubled young man, Tyler, who was once Ricky’s son’s best friend. Tyler has recently been released from juvenile justice and is attending support groups to help him reintegrate into society. After a rocky start, Ricky and Tyler form a friendship that offers both of them healing for their deep-seated pain.
