The invitation to Kingsford's annual house party, hosted by Philip Griswold III and his clique of senior college students, is a symbol of status and popularity for New York's Upper East debutants. So the guys are already at the station on Friday afternoon to pick up their glamorous girls. Fiancé Carol for Phil, platinum-blonde beauty Daphne for three boys and Mary Rose for a reluctant Homer. And then there's Jane Thomas, a New York "Taxi Dancer" for Phil. Phil had met her on one of his drunken party nights at the Lake Joy Dance Hall and has forgotten he invited her. With the couples joining each other for dinner, the battle to steal a husband begins...
