There Is Another Sun plot

Eddie 'Racer' Peskett performs stunts at the carnival, where he drives through the “Wall of Death”. With the support of up-and-coming boxer Mag Maguire, he tries to get back on the Walthamstow racetrack as a motorcyclist. While gambling there, they meet the choir girl Lillian, whom they both fall in love with. Peskett has to pay a £50 deposit on a motorbike and therefore robs the owner of the gambling den, Sarno. The heist brings Detective Sergeant Bratcher to the carnival. He is determined to arrest 'Racer'.
