"THE FINGER OF HISTORY WRITES A NEW PAGE!"
The year is 1916. In the southern United States, the wealthy Chilcote family is increasingly in trouble because father Roger has been suffering from excessive drinking for years. His daughter Maggie May, who loves him very much, wants to help him stop drinking, but Roger doesn't believe he can. After a month of abstinence, Roger can't resist the temptation and starts a protracted drinking bout, gambling everything the family owns.
