"Everything seemed so important then... even love!"

Katie Morosky is a political activist trying to spread her communist views. While studying, she meets Hubbell Gardner, who is not interested in politics but prefers sports. Despite their differing views, they fall in love. Years later, when Gardner returns from military service, they meet again.
