The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada plot

"Nobody is beyond redemption."

At the US-Mexico border, border guard Mike Norton (Barry Pepper) becomes involved in the death of Melquiades Estrada. The victim is quickly buried and in the town the incident is considered closed. After all, it is just an illegal worker. But when ranch employee Pete Perkins (Tommy Lee Jones), a good friend of Estrada, finds out what happened to him, he goes after Mike. He forces Mike to exhume the body and, along with the corpse, they move to Estrada's Mexican hometown to re-bury him. The journey is not without difficulties.

What an incredibly boring, long-winded, uninteresting film this is. Why does this rank so high? What's fun about this? Weird supporting roles too.

Recommend 1st class.

Quite a special drama this film. Despite the fact that the film is set in the current era, the film has a lot of resemblance to a western. The story was quite nice and was also entertaining. On the other hand, the film also has many weaknesses and I mean that the film starts slowly and there are quite a lot of boring moments in it. The images look nice and the cast did a pretty good job with Barry Pepper and especially Tommy Lee Jones. It was quite strange and sometimes humorous how Tommy Lee Jones dealt with the corpse of his deceased Mexican friend.

Good film in which an American border guard accidentally shoots a Mexican man. An original story of penance. Due to the somewhat muddled editing, it is a bit difficult to follow at the beginning, but that doesn't make it any less entertaining. A beautiful western-like setting and good acting.
