The Tarnished Angels plot
"The Book They Said Could Never Be Filmed!"
New Orleans, 1932. During the American Depression, alcohol-addicted journalist Burke Devlin is tasked with covering an air show taking place near New Orleans. He is fascinated by the aerial acrobats, because of their fatalistic lifestyle. Burke makes contact with one of the touring acrobat troupes, consisting of the stunt flyer Roger Shumann, his irresistible blond and sky-diving wife LaVerne, their son Jack and their frustrated flight engineer Jiggs. Burke, who soon learns that Roger's plane comes first and his family second, falls in love with the neglected LaVerne.
