The Sun Shines Bright plot
"JUDGE BILLY PRIEST...the only man who ever called Mallie Crump a Lady"
Fairfield in Kentucky, the Southern United States, forty years after the Civil War. It is the eve of the election of a new judge. Priest, an elderly and beloved judge, has run for office again. During election time, he must deal with a case involving a falsely accused black boy and the truth behind the alleged adoption of a young lady. For him, justice still comes before the elections.
