The Staircase plot

The newly built church is nearing completion, but the architect and contractor believe there is no space left to construct a conventional staircase to the choir room. The prayers of Mother Madalyn, one of Loretto's nuns in Santa Fe, Mexico, seem unanswered until an enigmatic carpenter mysteriously appears. Using only simple tools and wood, he solves the dilemma by creating a never-before-seen circular staircase. The man disappears as quickly as he came, leaving behind a new invention and a sense of trust in all who met him...
