The Serpent plot
Vania, a beautiful young peasant woman, falls asleep worrying about getting her father's permission to marry her beloved Andrey. In her dreams, she leads a completely different life, a femme fatale wreaking havoc on the lives of those she believes have wronged her. In the dream, Vania resolves to take revenge on the Grand Duke who ruined her life, and no evil will stop that vengeance.
