This movie touched me a lot. I think the acting is really good, very realistic, and it wasn't difficult to get into the story. It came in almost right away. The movie is very sad. I had to let it sink in for a while afterwards. Strong and beautiful work. 4.5*

Film about two rascals who have been kicked out of school and want to earn some money by helping the local scrap dealer. The subject of the movie is quite good. And the depressing atmosphere in a shabby environment is also well represented. But the acting is way below par and that unfortunately brings the whole movie down.

Good film but also 'standard' film about the English lowest social class. The image that is portrayed is raw, unpolished and reminiscent of Ken Loach's films (but a bit rawer and less friendly). Acting is good and convincing, actually from the entire cast. What makes the film special is how the theme of friendship is developed here. The twist at the end of the film is unexpected and gives the whole film a somewhat printed charge. Not a feel-good movie. At times maybe a bit slow and I had a moment when I thought 'something can happen now'. That also happened a little late in the movie. But if you're in for a good but raw English drama and don't shy away from slower films, then this one is a must. All in all 3.5 stars.
