The Rainbow Trail plot
"The Sequel to RIDERS OF THE PURPLE SAGE"
John Shefford discovers that his missing uncle, Lassiter, and a young woman are trapped in Paradise Valley after a boulder falls across the valley's only exit. John sets out to rescue them, and along the way, saves Fay Larkin, the adopted daughter of the woman trapped with his uncle, from marrying Willets, the leader of the gang that chased his uncle into the valley. After the two are freed from the valley, Fay is kidnapped by Shadd. John decides to go to the rescue again.
