The Pier plot
Jack McCarthy learns that his father Larry is dying and immediately leaves America for his native Ireland. But once he arrives in his native village, he finds his father happily playing golf. It turned out to be a low trick of his father and now Jack has lost his last savings on this one-way ticket. His financial problems also force him to live under the same roof with his father. The twenty years that they did not see each other before seem impossible to bridge.
