The Narrow Corner plot
Captain Nichols is hired to keep Fred Blake at sea indefinitely. Blake has committed a crime in Sydney and must stay away until peace is restored. During their journey through the South Seas, they avoid any contact with Europeans until they meet one Dr. Meet Saunders. At the insistence of the sick captain, he is allowed to sail, against Blake's wishes. After a severe storm, they are forced to dock for repairs at a small island. Blake befriends the Dane Eric here, but also falls under the spell of the British Louise, Eric's fiancée.
