The Member of the Wedding plot
"She became a woman in the middle of a kiss!"
Frankie Addams is a boyish 12-year-old girl who is bullied by the other girls in the neighborhood and is going through a nasty phase in her life. She spends most of her time in the kitchen chatting with the black maid Bernice and the younger boy next door John Henry. Her brother Jarvis is about to get married and Frankie imagines that she will leave town with him and his new wife.
