The Man Who Came Back plot
When his son Stephen gets involved in yet another scandal, the New York millionaire Thomas Randolph decides to dry him up. He sends him to San Francisco to work in his shipping company. Stephen refuses to work and also falls in love with the revue singer Angie. His father then sends him to China, where a few months later he runs into Angie again in an opium den. A year later they live together in Hawaii, where they are visited by Captain Trevelyan.
