mr. Alfred Polly is a sensitive man who works at a textile company. After being fired for daydreaming, he gives up hope to ever work again. But then he receives his father's inheritance and Mr. Polly suddenly became a well-to-do person. He buys a bicycle and goes on an adventure. In this way he meets Christabel, a young schoolgirl, but their love seems to be short-lived.
