The Gambler plot

"In the grip of obsession, reason is suspended."

Second half 19th century. Anna is offered a job on the condition that she will live with her employer for a month. The employer turns out to be Dostoevsky, who has to write a book in 30 days to pay his gambling debts. If he does not finish the book within a month, all future literary rights will fall to his merciless publisher Stellovsky under a strangulation contract. In the end, Anna becomes the one to take the real gamble.
