An enjoyable film, albeit nothing special. Very well made, smooth, does not bore and with actors who all seem to be having a lot of fun, but it remains a bit superficial. Dramatically, for example, the film falls short. I find those scenes between Keaton and Dern especially filling, although they do provide the funniest moment of the entire film when Keaton indicates that he wants to get a divorce. And although the actors play with visible pleasure and Keaton is nice too, he doesn't have to dig deep. This is not a movie about the psyche of a man with a goal who has to work hard and make sacrifices for it. No, this is just a movie about McDonald's growing up.

But the latter does the film well. Anyway, the decoration is beautiful. The entire history is also clearly and professionally presented. We get to know Kroc as a loser whose only quality was that he gave a shit about others and made himself rich with it. The whole concept of fast food comes from the founders themselves, as well as other inventions such as the business model that the Mac still has (real estate, common knowledge I think, but I'll just spoiler it anyway). (And this has nothing to do with the movie, but McDonald's is a very interesting company anyway when it comes to innovation in food preservation and logistics. It's just a shame that they suddenly help clear your table and sell healthy stuff. That's not what I go to the Mac.)

Visually, little else is done except for two dolly zooms. Also, more could have been done with the soundtrack. But as two hours of entertainment, this works more than excellent. 3.5*.
