The Falklands Play plot

Shortly after her appointment, Margaret Thatcher already has to deal with a very difficult issue: the Falkland Islands. Argentina, a former ally of the United Kingdom, occupied the Falkland Islands in 1981. Shortly thereafter, Thatcher declared war on Argentina. After a period of waiting, in which an attempt was made to resolve the conflict peacefully, the British decided to resort to less friendly measures. British troops fought in the islands in March and April 1982, after which it soon became British land again.
