The Emigrants plot

In a cellar in a European country on New Year's Eve, we see two Syrian immigrants. One is an intellectual and a politician who has fled his country in search of freedom. The other is a worker looking for a better life. They find each other in their shared sobriety and their detailed stories about their lives, their difficulties and moments of happiness. But in the end they are heading for self-destruction.
