Rita urges him to kill her domineering husband Harold King. However, Dave refuses, but does not leave Rita. A furious Harold learns about Rita's plans and fakes his death to land his wife in jail for the fake murder. Corrupt detective McGonigle clears Rita's name and then blackmails her with her affair with Dave.
