The Cold Lands plot

Atticus lives with his mother in the woods. When she suddenly dies, Atticus flees into the woods and tries to survive there. Just as he begins to despair, he meets the weed-smoking drifter Carter, who lives in his car and sells homemade beaded necklaces. They continue together.
