The Club plot
"In this club nobody plays by the rules..."
Laurie Holden (Jack Thompson) is a coach of the Victorian Football League (VFL) team that has not won the championship for 19 years. Club president Ted Parker (Graham Kennedy) brings in a new high-priced star player, but young Geoff Hayward (John Howard) is deeply disappointed. As the club loses game after game, disagreements grow between the coach, the president, the players' committee and the players.
