Rosie lives in the same neighborhood in Vancouver as Áila. However, their lives could hardly be different. While Áila listens to Joni Mitchell on vinyl in her tastefully decorated home, Rosie shares a flat with the abusive father of her unborn child and her mother-in-law-to-be. When Áila finds the abused Rosie barefoot in the rain, she takes her home.
