The Beloved Vagabond plot

A vagrant French architect relinquishes an English lover who can save his father from jail through a rich marriage. With his landlady's son, he goes on a hike through France to 'forget' and forms a trio with a village girl who earn their living by making music. Just as he starts to see the village girl as a woman, the Englishwoman reappears and he has to choose between a bohemian life or society status.
