The Belly of an Architect plot
"Art is the food for madness."
The American architect Stourley Kracklite and his much younger wife travel to Rome to investigate the work of the eighteenth-century French architect Boullée. During these nine months abroad, however, the corpulent Kracklite suffers from chronic stomach pain. Moreover, a rivalry develops between him and the Italian architect Speckler.
