The Basket plot

In the midst of World War I, the people of a small town in the Northwest Pacific are tired, confused, and caring. A strange teacher with unconventional methods arrives in the village to teach them a strange new game called basketball. The residents are at first aloof but eventually become enthusiastic about the sport. All this culminates in hope and ultimately triumph.
