I thought this was a wonderful movie to watch. You are really immersed in a very strong 60s atmosphere... As the title already suggests. It does indeed have a kind of documentary-like appearance as mentioned above, but I was still able to empathize with the story. I think this is a film that mainly relies on its atmosphere, but I certainly thought it was a good film.

Beautiful, atmospheric chronicle of the turbulent and unforgettable 1960s, in which the world became widely acquainted with the alternative lifestyle of young people (including flower power) and their various forms of protest. The generational conflict and mutual differences of opinion come into sharp focus. The story is beautifully supported by the nice music from those years.

Another DVD from my father's closet that is quite from the 60s. A kind of mix of documentary and drama. On the one hand, the entire 60s with all the important moments is shown in this way, but on the other hand, this is a terrible way of filming because everything remains terribly superficial and fleeting; the drama itself is therefore not interesting. I also had that with, say, The Iron Lady. The fact that this is sometimes really presented as a documentary works somewhat better than if it were presented much more as a full-blooded feature film. Wonderful music from mainly American artists (I think the Beatles are missing). The highlight in that regard is Nico's voice on tones of The Velvet Underground, but unfortunately in a short piece. 2.5*.
