Tempting Fate plot

Brain surgeon Ben Creed leads a lonely life where everything depends on his career. His best friend John is struggling with serious financial problems and is no longer interested. By twist of fate, scientist Emmet Lach discovers a parallel universe, a magical world where an alternative society lives in apparent harmony. Ben and John are willing to embark on an experimental journey into this parallel universe. Here Ben hopes to marry an analog version of Melody, the only woman he ever loved. John expects that in this world he has lost his creditors for good. Slowly discovering offer that their strange new world hides sinister and terrifying secrets...
