Swamp Water plot

The story is set in the foreboding Okefenokee Swamp, where danger in the form of alligators, venomous water snakes and quicksand is always lurking. When trapper Ben Ragan (Dana Andrews) loses his favorite hunting dog Trouble in the vast swamps of Okefenokee, he discovers the hideout of wrongly sentenced Tom Keefer (Walter Brennan) while searching. They befriend and decide to team up in fur trading, with Ben promising never to betray Tom's hideout. But when Ben accidentally blows his mouth, his jealous girlfriend Mabel Mackenzie (Virginia Gilmore) reveals his big secret. A new manhunt begins, with Tom feeling betrayed by the man he confided in.
