Sunday Too Far Away plot
"Friday night he's too tired; Saturday night too drunk; Sunday, too far away."
Sunday Too Far Away is set in 1955 on one of the vast sheep farms in the outback of Australia. Foley (Jack Thompson), a former (champion) sheep shearer, decides to join a sheep shearing team led by Tim King (Max Cullen), an old friend. The team also consists of Old Garth (Reg Lye), a former sheep shearer who has turned to alcohol, and Black Arthur (Peter Cummins), a newcomer from New South Wales who proves to be a formidable competitor for Foley. As the season progresses, Foley tries to prove that he is still the champion.
