Street Poet plot

In underground clubs all over the country, there is an undiscovered phenomenon called 'Slam Poetry'. Young poets of the street compete with each other by means of words. During one of these battles, the talented Jake Thompson is discovered by the attractive publisher Marni Elliot, who is looking for new poets. Once that relationship breaks down, Jake reaches a low point in his life. He seeks his dreams in dark nightclubs. This while the hippest poet David takes a bird's-eye view of his career on his way to fame and fortune. When Jake is completely devastated, he realizes that love is more than words and that sometimes you have to fight for it.
