Strange Fruit plot
When her son is murdered in the parking lot of a gay bar, Emma Ayers enlists the help of William Boyals, a black lawyer from New York. Returning to his hometown, a provincial Louisiana town, Boyals must not only solve the murder, but also fight against the racism in the local police force and endure the homophobia of his own mother.
