Soraya plot
The handsome German-Persian Soraya grows up in Germany and Switzerland. She dreams of a career as a film actress. Until she is introduced to Reza Pahlavi, the Shah of Iran. It is love at first sight and they get married in 1951. As Empress of Persia, however, she lives in a golden cage. Her sole mission is to give the shah an heir to the throne. However, when it turns out that she cannot have children, she is rejected.
